Custom Concrete Creations [ web development \ branding \ web hosting ]
We love being a part of Make Music Portland‘s annual music festival, a totally free day of music with concerts that happen all around Portland and beyond on the summer solstice. Five years ago, for their inaugural celebration, we helped them gear up with an official website, social media, content production, publicity and media relations, event production, and email marketing.
Over the intervening years, our participation has grown. Maine Creative is proud to be a reliable partner, working with event organizers throughout the year, to provide the non-profit organization with all of its marketing, design, and digital needs. These are services that we offer to Make Music Portland for free, in exchange for promotional consideration during the event.
In 2017, we built Make Music Portland an entirely new, mobile-optimized, SEO integrated website. Check it out! As a grassroots organization with a small annual budget, their website is an integral part to their community outreach. It’s also the way that the organization signs up performing artists, volunteers, and venues, making it even more important to their operations.
Our goal was to make a clean, simple site. Something that would load fast, look great on all devices, and function smoothly. We also needed to create something with great analytic feedback that the organization could use. We turned to WordPress, customizing a free theme and laying out a very modern design. As part of this process, we also slightly reworked the official logo, borrowing from a logo design that we developed and used last year.
The website relaunch was part of a larger look at Make Music Portland’s branding and design. With a new logo and website, we applied a new color palette and styling to the organization’s social media, print material, and email marketing.
Working with the event organizers, we also created content for social media campaigns and managed those initiatives. We designed print pieces, made the 2017 official posters, created organizational materials, crafted and distributed press releases, aided in the marketing of the event and its supporting fundraisers, helped to identify sponsorship, and strategized with the organizers.
The 2017 event was a very successful one and we were glad to be a part of it. We’re looking forward to helping Make Music Portland again with their 2018 celebration.
